Welcome to Our Online Farm Store

Rocking-H is a small family farm where the family all play a part in the success of the operation. The land where the farm is located has been in the family for decades and we have lived to effectively and efficiently utilize the resources of the land.

Sustainability is the key. By utilizing nature and the resources available to us, we have created a sustainable and all natural environment for our family. It is our hope to share this with you. We grow our own vegetables and wake up to the site of deer grazing in our pastures and on our front lawn. It is a great place to live we want to share it with you through the products and services we offer at Rocking-H Farms.

Bird Houses-Blue Bird Habitats

Our bluebird habitats are built to time-tested specifications and plans. It is important to note that these bird houses are built by our nine year-old son and are truly limited editions. Because they are hand made, no two are exactly alike. Each house is lovingly made and creates a "natural" habitat for bluebirds. Bluebirds prefer to live in old orchards and along fence lines and by placing these houses in those places you can provide them a place to set-up family and spread their wings. Remember bluebird eat insects and if the attraction of beautiful little bluebirds flying around your home or barn isn't enough, this "natural" insecticide should clinch it for you.

Horses

Horses aren't our main business, but we do raise an occasional colt or filly for sale. We are horse people and have been for our entire lives. I can never remember a day when I didn't own and raise horses. Today we have a mixture of breeds. An Arabian, one paint that is in foal, a couple of quarter horses and and a young donkey jack. He keeps the place safe for all of the other animals. What he lacks is size, he makes up in attitude when he is threatened by an intruder. We currently don't have any horses for sale, but will update the page as soon as we have one available for sale.

Saddles & Tack

We know a quality saddle makes a tremendous difference in the performance of your horse and your performance as a rider, and that's why we depend on our saddle makers to bring you the very best in Western, and English saddlery at the very best prices. Our high quality saddles will give you years of use whether for work or pleasure. We believe in bringing you the very best value we can.

Pembroke Welsh Corgis

The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a long, low dog with large erect ears, a broad flat skull and a fox-like head. The tail is almost non-existent. They have a soft, water-resistant coat that come in red, sable, fawn or black & tan, usually with white markings Corgis are the smallest of all herding dogs that make great companion dogs for humans or other animals. They can be used for herding sheep, cattle and horses.

. Rocking-H Corgis are born to our family pets, and are great family dogs.

Southern Barbeque Sauce

River Water - A combination of spices and natural seasonings to be used as a marinade, a basting sauce and a dip to wake up the flavor of pork, beef, poultry and wild game.

River Rub - Dry seasoning for your favorite meats and vegetables.

WINTER ON THE FARM
Winter in our part of the country is really not much to talk about.  It is cold for us, but when you measure against the rest of the country it is pretty darned mild.  We have had a little snow this year, but for the most part what we call winter this year would be considered early spring weather for most of you.  On Christmas Day, we were seeing the first blooming flowers of spring. That is right, just three days into winter and we were seeing some very early blooms on some of our flowering shrubs.

It has been a very wet winter so far and our pastures and woodlands are soggy and muddy.  Because of a very heavy wet snow in mid-December, I have some barn repairs awaiting the first day with weather nice enough to undertake the tasks.

We heat our house primarily with a wood-burning heater, and we have burned through about a cored and a half of wood so far this year.  By the time the seasons turn, we will probably use about that much again.  We have enjoyed the lowered gasoline and diesel prices, but don’t expect that they will stay this low for long.

We will begin our early gardening in the next two to three weeks when we plant onions, potatoes, root crops and leafy greens.  This year we intend to become a little more dependent on our garden and less dependent on the grocery store for the food we eat.

ABOUT OUR FAMILY
Our family is built on love and strong values which hold us together as a close-knit unit. Our family is made up of us, John and Dre' and our two fine young sons Logan and Holden. We believe in the rewards of hard work whether it is in school, on the farm or even on the field of play in sports. We work hard and play hard and we take our energy and commitment into everything we do. With a pioneering spirit, and can-do attitude, we have built and continue to build life here on Rocking-H Farm.

ROCKING-H NORTH
Another important component of our family is our Rocking-H North crew. Specifically, this includes John's oldest two sons, John III and Will, and their families. John III -- or Johnny, as we will forever call him -- helps us with the web work. He is a network administrator and is interested in horses, too -- steel horses of the motorcycle variety, that is.

FEATURE OF THE MONTH
With the onset of the livestock show season, you will want to keep an eye on our website.  We are going to be offering periodic specials on merchandise from almost every department in online store.  Some of these specials will last all month, but some will last for only a day or two. Don’t miss the opportunity to save on saddles, tack, tee-shirts and much more from our  site.
